REVIATECH is developping innovative virtual environment based training tools. Reviatech won the French national award (OSEO ANVAR)for start up launch
Projet de recherche collaborative Coyote This study is focused on the development of a training system for CNC machining based on a formative feedback concept. It is a cognitive-oriented step toward an adaptive and powerful training for manufacturing. Learner’s activity is represented through a task model (expressed using a Petri Net) and a user state model. Relevant feedback is provided according to the pedagogic research results. An experimental survey has been conducted with the mechanical engineering students pursuing a machining course at the University of Technology Compiegne, using a 3D virtual replica of a real machine built using the simulation engine “Revia”. Our hypothesis was that it was possible to notice a difference between students who had used the simulator before their practical exercises and who have not. The results show that providing the formative feedback is useful and relevant, but needs to be tuned.
