3. The Simulation Environment (5)
The rightmost block of buttons controls how the simulation will be run. Initially the "STOP" button is active (pink color) and nothing happens. Before running a simulation one has to select a simulation mode among "STEP" "CYCLE" or "RUN". This is done by clicking the corresponding button.
"STEP" When in step mode the simulation will stop after each agent is examined, either for sending messages or for executing actions.
"CYCLE" When on cycle mode the agen stops after each cycle.
"RUN" In this mode the simulation runs continuously (after a scenario has been chosen).
"MORE" Allows the simulation to proceed, continuously when in running mode, cycle by cycle when in cycling mode, step by step when in stepping mode.
"RESET" Resets all the agents and environment for a new simulation. Resets the clock to 0.
"QUIT" Lives the SMAS simulation and returns to Lisp top level. The SMAS control pannel is removed from the screen. The same effect can be obtained by clicking the close square button of the SMAS control pannel.
