SY27 - Intelligent Vehicles

SY27 is the “intelligent vehicles” course at UTC. It is designed as a course for the last year students of the robotics minor.

I had the occasion to participate to this course multiple times.

Fall 2023

Lessons:

  • LiDAR sensor, ground segmentation and clustering (2h – slides)
  • Multiple Object Tracking using Finite Set Statistics (2h – slides)
    • Recall on single object tracking using a Kalman Filter
    • Random Finite Sets
    • PHD filter

Practical session (2h) on point cloud transformation using Numpy (subject). Practical sessions (4h each) on LiDAR and ROS.

Co-supervision of intelligent vehicle project.

Fall 2022

Co-supervision of intelligent vehicle project.

The goal of the project was to test another driving modality (joystick) coupled by a “guardian angel” in the vehicle disabling the driver to give hazardous orders. The project was demonstrated by the student in a real robotized car, using real sensor data on a private road.

Keywords:

  • Drive by wire
