Pedro Castillo was born in Morelos, Mexico, on January 8, 1975. He received his B.S degree in Electro-mechanic Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Zacatepec, Morelos, Mexico, in 1997, the M. Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados (CINVESTAV), Mexico, in 2000, and the Ph. D. degree in Automatic Control from the University of Technology of Compiègne, France, in 2004.

He has held visiting positions at the University of Sydney, Australia, from April to June 2004, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), from January to April 2005, at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain, from May 2005.

At the moment, he is researcher at the French National Research Foundation (CNRS), in the Laboratory Heudiasyc, at the University of Technology of Compiègne, France.

P. Castillo was awarded by the best Ph.D. thesis of Automatic Control from club EEA, (France) in 2005.

His research topics cover : real-time control applications, non-linear dynamics and control, aerospace vehicles, vision and underactuated mechanical systems
